Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee critical accounting functions, ensure financial compliance, and provide strategic insights. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, leadership capabilities, and a keen eye for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure GAAP compliance and accurate revenue recognition
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes

General Ledger & Reconciliation:

• Oversee general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations
• Review journal entries and approve subordinate work
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies

Process Improvement:

• Develop and implement accounting policies/procedures
• Streamline financial processes through automation
• Support ERP system enhancements

Audit & Compliance:

• Manage annual audits and tax preparations
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Leadership & Collaboration:

• Mentor junior accounting staff
• Partner with cross-functional teams on financial matters
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CMA certification (or in progress)
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience
• Expert knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros)

Preferred:

• Public accounting experience (Big 4/mid-size firm)
• Experience with [NetSuite/Oracle/SAP/other ERP systems]
